Beautiful People

Here is another stamp from the Celebrate the Everyday Occasions catalog called People Like You (#133215).  It's a single wood mount stamp that sadly did not make it into the 2014-2015 Catalog.  I love the saying on it and it punches out with the decorative label punch (#120907) so that it can be popped up on dimensionals, as I've done here.  Still playing with my Blendabilities, using the Rich Razzleberry set again. I can't wait for the other colors, because Water Lillies (which I think these are, are not purple!  At least not the one's I've seen.)  After I punched out the saying, I sponged it with Soft Sky ink so that it would stand out more.  The background paper is from the new DSP paper stack, Moonlight (#133791) available June 2.  Stuck on some Candy Dots from the neutrals collection (# 130934) and called it a day.  Well actually, I had the panel lined up all nice and pretty, but then I saw the Seize the Sketch #121 on my friend Bev's Blog (Hi, Bev!) and ripped gently lifted it off and tilted it.  Here's the sketch:

Challenge Accepted!

First of all, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day!  I hope that if you see a veteran or active duty soldier today, you shake their hand and say Thank You!

On to the challenge...Kelly took me up on my Triple Dog Dare You Challenge and here is her amazing creation!  You rocked it, girl!

I am so sad to see the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper retire in just a few short days.  I've said it before and I'll say it again - the color combinations are incredible and I'm sure I'll be using them in the future, sans the paper. boo hoo!

I also made a card using the Perfect Blend Stamp set (item #131392) and my new SU! Blendabilities Markers.  Here is my card...

Don't you wish coffee stores had fun wrappers, like this one!  I used the skin tone Blendabilities to color the coffee cup.  It's mounted on a Crumb Cake tag punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch (#133324).  The papers are from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Pack (item #132996), which is also retiring in a few days. The thick Baker's Twine will be available in the 2014-2015 Catalog.  This card was made using the Paper Players Sketch Challenge

I just flipped it on it's side.  Sketches are so fun and really give your Mojo a boost!

Don't forget that both the Big Catalog and the Celebrate the Everyday Occasions catalog end in just a few days.  There is a HUGE Blowout sale on retired products.  Stuff is going fast, so if you need something, contact me directly or you can place an on line order thru the Stampin' Up! website store.

I Triple Dog Dare YOU!

Hope you've had a chance to watch the video I posted the other day.  Now I'm challenging Kelly (my producer-extraordinaire) to make a card using the two colored coffee cups and a stamped image I left her, from the set!  Let's see what she creates with them.  I'm going to stamp and color another set of coffee cups and create a card of my own.  Hop on it, girl, let's see whatcha got!

Fininshed in the nick of time!

Another sneak peek.  Just finished up on this card and it looks like it's just in time, because I think my new little great nephew is about to make his appearance into the world tonight.  I'm on stand by to head over to my niece's, to watch the two older boys, if she goes into labor tonight.  I'm so excited!

Okay, back to the card...it uses the new set Something for Baby and the coordinating framelit dies, Baby's Firsts.  It also uses Lullaby and Maritime (the middle banner) Designer Series Paper, Soft Suede ink, Petite Pairs Stamp set, Early Espresso Bakers Twine and gold sequins.  Hey, a new baby adds sparkle to every one's lives, right?!?  So it just seems appropriate for this card.  I CASE'd (copy and share everything) from the uber talented Melissa Cash.  See her card here.

Well, I'm off to bed, in case I get that middle of the night call.

Happy Crafting!

Retired List Blowout Sale

Get excited! We are currently offering a 25%-50% discount on many of the retiring products. This will be live on May 22, but you have to act fast, as this special offer is only available until June 4, 2014 (or until supplies last!). If you missed out on a product the first time, this is your last chance to get it before it's gone for good!  Contact me directly or go to http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx and add me as your demonstrator.

Did you know that for every online order you place with me, I send you a very special handmade card to thank you?  Place an order to see which card I'll be sending you this month.

I know you don't want to just see "the deals" that Stampin' Up! is having, you also want to see what I've been creating.  I'll have a card up for you shortly.  I've actually been working on it for a few days.  Do you ever do that?  You just can't seem to get it right.  Well, I think this is it.   See you back in a few.

Journaling cards aren't just for journaling!

One of my most favorite Designer Series Papers and accessories will soon be gone!  The Retro Fresh Collection from the Celebrate the Everyday Occasions catalog is coming to an end on June 1st.  (Hint..the Washi Tape is staying!)  I just LOVE the color combination is this collection.  One of the pieces in this collection is the Journaling Tags and they are "Awesome Sauce" (yes, there's a card with that saying on it, too!)
Who says you have to use these cards for scrapbooking or as journaling cards?!?!  Here I've used one of the pre-printed, smaller sized die cut cards as my focal point.  See the little banner on top?  Yep, that's in the package, too!  I just stamped Congratulations, trimmed the end to a banner and wrapped it around a corsage pin I had in my stash and gave it a little swish with my bone folder to give it some dimension.  You could use this card for any occasion... graduation, expecting parents, job well done, promotion; the list goes on and on and it's gender neutral!  And the best part is that it only took me about 15 minutes to put it together using the Mojo Monday week 344 sketch.
The Journaling Cards are on the Weekly Deals Rack for just $3.71, regularly $4.95.  Think of all the cards you could make with this sweet pack!  Ready to order?  Contact me to place an order.

Here's the card details:

Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags #133526  $3.71
Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper #132993  $10.95
   Very Vanilla 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock   #101650  $8.50
   Coastal Cabana 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock #131297  $6.95
Early Espresso Classic Stampin' Pad #126974  $5.95

Just Playing with my new SU! Blendabilities

So the other day I was over at my friend (and downline) Kelly's house to play with all of our new goodies from the new 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! catalog.  (The beauty part of being a demonstrator is that we get to pre-order products to become familiar with and have samples ready to show you, our great customers.)
Now, for anyone who knows me, I have been a Copic Marker girl for quite some time.  The depth of color and the movement you can create with them is AMAZING!  Step on the brakes, Nellie, because Stampin' Up! has come out with their own brand of alcohol markers, called Blendabilities, that are going to truly rival Copic Markers. And at half the cost of three Copic Markers, it is a much more affordable investment.
Here are two samples I did.  The top picture uses the Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight sets.  Yes, I said sets!  Each set offers three markers, a light, medium and dark - no guessing here!  The bottom photo uses the Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight sets along with some new designer series paper, cardstock and ribbon!  Oh, and the flower...that's a new stamp, too!
I'll be posting a video later this week to give you some tips and tricks for using your Blendabilities.  I know you'll be ordering them, once you see them in action!  They are available starting June 2.
If you've placed a Stampin' Up! order with me in the past year of $75 or more, I'll be sending you a free catalog in the next few days.  If you don't have a demonstrator and would like a catalog, please contact me.  The cost is $5.25 including postage.

Welcome to My Paper Playground's Blog!

The store may be closed, but that doesn't mean I can't continue to share my love of paper crafting with you!  This blog will for the most part, focus on Stampin' Up! products, but I may throw a few "other stuff" in there for you, too.  I hope you'll enjoy it and look forward to my (hopefully) daily posts.
